To show you how nice the food is, here is the appetizer from today's lunch....

And i'm thinking whether I should post pics of my orientation group...mmm....perhaps not...cos we are wearing some funny jerseys which makes us look like huge walking advertistment for our company.

Of green juices and CBD skylines

This witches' brew was Winnie's... somehow she had a tiny cauldron of greenish liquid too vile to name the ingredients...but they all started with letter "v", abeit with different species of these "v" ingredients.... However, it looked like THAT only after she decided to drop in a bubbly Vit-C tablet into it....YET, I think she drank every single drop of this....

CBD revisited...was spending the afternoon with Max over at the riverside and talking about life in general... and this IS my life in general...especially from Mondays to Fridays....

Lastly... Jo, it was really really great talking to you on Friday night.... enjoyed your company. Too bad Peppa didn't come along... perhaps next time =)

Pork with Oregano and Apples

ok....today is the day where i attempted to cook again after a long period of non-practice. This dish is of a creamy sort and it goes very well with spagetti or rice...

Anyhow, these are the ingredients i need:

pork
2 green apples
1 large onion
150 ml cream
Oregano
1 tablespoon brandy
2 tablespoon brown sugar

Firstly, you need to melt butter over the wok and stir fry the onions and apples, adding brown sugar over a period of 4 minutes or until the apples turn golden brown.

After which, the pork gets fried and you mixed everything together, including the cream, brandy and oregano, with a little bit of salt n pepper...

And it's ready to serve!

Verdict: I took this receipe off a cookbook with slight improvision. I used oregano instead of sage and i used chinese rice wine instead of brandy. The final product was a little bit "flat" in flavour and i believe adding cheese and halving the amount of cream will help improve the flavour somewhat... and THAT, will be next when I try it again with dude.... =)

A walk down memory lane....

In the morning I had buffet dim sum with ZJ, YJ, Jason and shugang at Dragon Gate restaurant@WTC....

The fried water chestnut is great.... and yj ticked the wrong column which resulted in us having 2 baskets of char sao bao which we threaten to stuff it down his throat if he doesn't finish all of them =)

Of which later, me, yj and zj went down to botanical gardens(more pic in the prev post) and we had quite a fun time posing for some crap shots like the one shown here, with us acting as swordmen of the past fighting in a bamboo forest...naturally we didn't suceed as we did not have a bamboo hat nor old chinese clothings....=)

At night, I met up with a few of my old primary school classmates, with some I did not keep in contact with for 14 years.... 14 long years... and we chatted about the past over carl's junior burger... strangely, I can't remember much about the past, perhaps my brain only have 1Gb of storage space....

After which we went to jewel box in mt Faber for a drink...a place where I used to play marble and run around as a kid... now it's a pub.... a pub that covered my memories of the past under layers of wooden flooring, nice lounge ambience and a live band....sigh....

3 of the best shots i've taken in Botanic Gardens...

No inspiration today....so these are the best shots i got *shurgz*... must be the dim sum buffet that clouded my brain....

Training Day

Today was training day. The title of the course was Ethics and Independence... Essentially, you are not suppose to have any interest (financially or relationship wise) in the client you are engaged to audit.

Training was held at M hotel and the tea break was good. We have choc. eclairs, chicken wings (very very good) and garlic bread with prawn(exquisite!). That was naturally the highlight of the course.

Mid Week Blogging

The blue shoe belongs to me. The red belongs to someone else. *ahem* Anyhow, these 2 pairs of shoes carried us through 4km of track while admiring the little river beside the jogging track, complete with birds performing dives into the river to catch fishes.

Hee.... little fliibee sneaked into my bag and i carried it all the way to work. haha....that little devil.... but she's no longer with me...she's in taiwan now....with her.

Great BBQ and an experience in a dream car....

We had a fabulous BBQ session at terence place...seriously, it's one of the best starfishes outing I ever had. Great food. Great place. Great companionship. Time really flies when you are having fun and it's been a while since time flew that fast. It's really great to be able to see most of you peeps again... sigh...the memories...

An artistic shot of Terence's home.

And to make it even better, I managed to sit in the E60 BMW 5 series! One of my dream cars(which of cos i would not buy here for obvious reasons)

Interior of the 5 series. The iDrive is cool. Very geeky.

A post without title....

I pondered. Pondered on the difference between work and study life. There isn't many differences. They are typically the same. Yet. The people around you isn't the same. They are different. Human behaviour typical of a working adult is much different from the behaviour of a studying adult. And these differences amplifies our experiences in the working world. It is far more enriching than the experiences we enjoyed during our study life.

Time plays an important role too. People are like wine. It takes time for them to mature. The longer the maturity, the better the wine. People you meet in working life have different piorities from people you meet in school. Perhaps as we grow older, we tend to see things in a more complicated manner, adding to the experience. Just like wine.

Yet, it is times like these that we need friends whom we can trust and rely on. Friends whom we can seek shelter when the world gets too complicated. A safe harbour where we can rest and recharge ourselves. To seek companionship and sometimes, even solitude.

Without friends, we are all like little ships sailing in the deep blue ocean, at the mercy of the elements....

Title: Sunset

你是我曾经的甜蜜
我是你爱情的过去
那一段美好的记忆
我们都不能够忘记
因为我很爱很爱你
所以能微笑着离去
虽然我不会在见你

Shopping and a Bday Dinner

Today was max's Bday, so we(me and jh) decided to treat him to west coast zhi char as max wanted to try their "prawn paste" chicken for a very long time but didn't have a chance. You see, the chicken is so nice that I forgot to take the photo of the food but busied myself eating 'em instead, hence you only get to see the kangkong.

The sakae sushi restaurant opposite city hall MRT station is no more. In it's place is yet another Japanese restaurant under a different name, but a Sakae Grp subsidary. For 14 dollars nett, we can have a main dish, which I ordered Naruto favourite, an apple salad as a side dish, a hot red bean dessert and a glass of lemonade. The food not bad and quite reasonably priced, naturally.

I went shopping again! hahaha....but this time, it's for ties =) Have to thank the special people who helped me to choose the ties! you know who you are :p

If not, er...never mind la....Evo X more fun than a relationship and you have a higher probability of getting it too! (See my previous post)

Sigh...nothing much to blog about....

Today's date is interesting, it goes 06.06.06. It's interesting because it will only happen today and only today. Same goes for 01.01.01, 02.02.02, 03.03.03, 04.04.04 and so on....so what is it about 06.06.06 that is interesting? mmmm I dunno....sigh...told you pplz I've nothing to blog about....

oh but here's an interesting probability formula:

probability of finding a soul mate in current settings = probability of finding a compatable girl x probability of finding an unattached girl x probability of knowing a girl x probability of the girl liking you in kind

so my probability = 0.5 (i'm not choosey) x 0.02 (most that i know are attached) x 0.005( i'm shy whahaha) x 0.04 (it's a good rating for myself okay)

= 0.000002

So you see, i'm better off saving up for a Mitsubishi Evolution X and it looks good in red!

90 Holland Road....

My friend had a house warming held in her new home today. Located along Holland road, the house is naturally expensive considering the location and the size of the house (3 levels) Actually, I do not mind living in such a nice place, but definately not in Singapore... with the amount spent, I could have built a 2 story beach front house in adelaide, together with a 3 car garage consisting of an Evo 9, Yaris and a subaru legacy, with a fair bit of change to live my life comfortably for another 3 years. The houses are really that expensive here in Singapore.

Each time I look at this picture (which I took during the house warming), I can't help but feel happy for the 2 lovely birds. It depicts pure selfless love for each other and a bond that seem to trancend across space and time.... sigh... BUT forget it, it doesn't happen in real life.

It never will.

I went on a shopping spree...sigh....

Sigh...yes yes...those of you who knows me know that I absolutely hate shopping. And that my brain goes into hibernate mode when ever i step into a store that sells clothing.

But times have changed. Today, I actually went on a shopping spree! It was torturous but I had no other choice. It was all done in the name of "necessity". I do not have the luxury of wearing berms and t-shirts any more.... sob sob. I miss those good old days where berms and sandals were the order of the day, 365 days a year.

So, taking into consideration the ongoing GSS and that Raffles City closes at 12 midnight today, I got myself a business pants( to me, it's just a nice name for a long black boring pants that I have to wear) and a new belt (very cheap, it's a steal at 22 bucks)

And dude, thanks for all your invaluable advise and for putting up with my continuous complains hahaha...owe you one!

Though I was slightly limping, I still managed to get $100 bucks! hee hee.... okok, gotta stop blogging and iron my shirts for tomorrow...

These are two of the pictures i've taken during a round macritchie reserviour trek...

Come thursday... it will be a new environment for me... i'll keep you pplz posted then! In the meantime, for those who have already started working, work hard. For those who have not started working, slack hard! =)

Ok sz...as what you requested =)

Sorry pplz.... I didn't take lots of photos with people in it...because...I didn't. whahah....anyhow, these are the few photos we had with people in them during our trip from adelaide to melbourne. So, enjoy!

3am in the morning, with me as the driver, having our first refill at a petrol station. Bought mentos to keep me awake. I didn't stop driving till 7am. That was 7 hours straight, with a little break in the middle....i swear i'll never do this kind of driving again...it's extremely straining both mentally n physically.

Reached the Great Ocean Road at approximately 10am. We all put up a brave smile for the camera despite us having a severe lack of sleep. I guess the only thing that prevented me from falling asleep was the occasional "Drowsy Drivers Die" road signs along the way.

One of the arches as the backdrop...while trying to reach here, I kind of hit a colorful looking bird that flew across the car's path...poor bird...

Our main attraction for the day!

Still struggling to stay awake. In fact, I was driving for a total of 10 hours of the 14 hours we took. No wonder I konked out at the motel in melbourne.....

We went to a farm tour( i forgot the name of the farm, as usual) and managed to feed all the ducks, geese, kangaroos (as you can see here, I was busy stuffing the cup into the kangaroo's mouth :p).

Funnily, the ducks and geese didn't dare come near, it must have overheard me telling my friends the idea of roasting 'em...

Hee hee....cute little meh meh....very "KAwaiieeeeeeee" according to a japanese tourist that was with us during the farm tour.

This is what fog looks like. This is suppose to be a scenic lookout but as you can see here, there's nothing but a greyish hue. This was taken on our way back to adelaide. And it was freezing cold.

MacKenzie Falls! But the waterfall's not really beautiful, it's just...well, a waterfall...

I'll end this with another cute picture of "B" the dog. Notice it's fat ass? haha... he is already tipping into being overweight if he eats somemore...

Sizzling Banana Crumble

We were at Swensen's after watching the Da Vinci Code @ PS yesterday. Well, it was more unique than the one I had at esplanade. When the food came, there was only the crumble and the ice cream sitting in the pan. The waitress subsequently poured what I think was banana sauce and bananas into the hot pan which made it sizzle upon contact.

And boy, did me and Zhangjing gobble it down like nobody's business. Best part of it? It was not sweet at all. And you can get to enjoy it at $9.90, standard price for such class of restaurant.

Never play card games with kids...you will never win

You can never win a game of any kind, so to speak with a hyper-imaginative child. They will find ways to win you with their cunning and twisted imagination. For example,

Jet (points to a monster he just summoned): This is the most powerful monster in the entire deck.

Me: i'll summon a pit so that it will fall into it and be destroyed.

Jet (ingenious look): Cannot! This monster is very big and powerful. The monster cannot fall into the pit. It's too small...

So you see, this argument from an "Uncle" perspective is pointless, hence the kid wins.
And I can go back watching the cartoons on Kids Central.

Ok, I was actually trying to see if I have excellent judgemental skills by trying to get as close to the pillar I can while parking. Well, I have, until the point where I did not realise the pillar is thicker after the green corner you see in this photograph. And that was when Mr Left Mirror meets Ms Pillar. Guess who won? Of cos it's has to be the lady.

Nice wedding gift!

Yeah... N70 does not have macro mode hence the bad pic, but anyhow, i attended a wedding dinner today and this is the wedding gift I got. Nice but I don't think i'll carry a keychain with "Xi" on it...it's just so...strange... haha... anyhow, this wedding dinner was slightly thought provoking as suhua provided some thoughts of her own to set me wondering on issues regarding marriage from a female perspective.

But of course, the rest of the night was filled with other fun-filled activites like eating, tormenting the poor china waitress by staring at her skills in distributing the food (we believed she is a trainee) and looking out for handsome guys and attractive girls =)
